The Property Market
What is the Property Market Like?
Well it is September already, the kids are back at school and parents have regained their sanity! Now is a good time to be looking at the market if you are wishing to buy or sell. Although the rental market is on the rise, it is still looking good for buyers and sellers alike. We have a few properties on our books for sale and the market is strong as they seem to be selling quite quickly.
Now is the perfect time to move, before the Christmas tree comes out of the loft and every room is full of secret packages you cant remember. The Auction rooms are also a good place to investigate if you are looking to exchange quickly. Clive Emson has an Auction on 29th October.
This week sees the start of spring selling season and although the market has been quiet there is definitely interest out there. It has been the quietest period since 2013 but I do feel the sales market is slowly picking up. Last month, research from estate agency chain Your Move found house prices in parts of London – once at the centre of the UK property boom – have fallen as much as 15% over the past year.
First time buyers seem to be on the increase and I have noticed a change in the fact they are looking at potential properties rather than something ready to move into. The first time buyers I have encountered are excited about the prospect of renovating a property to make their own and through blood sweat and tears build a home. This I think says alot about the current generation buying properties.
More next month!
